How guides are researched

Every guide is built from a mix of hands-on keeping experience and current, reputable husbandry references. Where a claim is species-specific — a temperature, a humidity range, a supplement schedule — we tell you to confirm it against a current care sheet, because ranges differ by species and get updated as the hobby learns more.

How products are chosen

We recommend product categories and what to look for in them, not paid placements. When we link to a retailer, the affiliate relationship affects only which link we use — never whether a category appears or what we say about it. We do not accept payment to feature a specific brand.

We never invent prices, fake statistics, or specific product claims we can't stand behind. Links point to search results or product categories so you compare current options yourself.

Accuracy & corrections

Animal care advice can affect a living creature, so accuracy matters more than speed. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct it promptly and note material changes. Guides carry a visible published date so you know how current they are.

Our limits

Xurain is written by experienced hobbyists, not veterinarians. Nothing here replaces a qualified exotics vet for a sick animal or a species-specific care plan. We say so inside the guides, not just here.
